Chuck Smith is the Veterans Day Guest Speaker, and addressed an audience of nearly 50. Chuck began his message that Veterans who have “borne the battle, carried the Flag, answered the call, to serve our Country” and “whose mission has been to protect freedom and liberty, to protect Americans at home and aborad, . . . through sacrifice, and selflessness” are the real heroes of a Nation. Many on the panel were Veterans of Korea, Vietnam, or the Gulf war, serving in Army, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard. Chuck shook hands with all, and saluted their service and dedications to the principles of freedom. Chuck reminded them that the call of Servicemen and Servicewomen is also a call to their families and love ones. Chuck said, “I told them that because of their selflessness, we are, One Proud Nation Under God, a symbol of democracy for the world, and assured each of them that their cause has not been, and will not be, forgotten”. And he said "Veterans are our primary concern", and “Their cause is ours, their plight is ours, because their fight has been ours, too, for us, for the United States of America.”
The Viable Adult Day Care Center presented Chuck with a Plague Award and Medal of gratitude, written with the words:
